Poor Cameron

Cameron broke his arm on Friday (April 24th) at lunch recess at school. He was sitting on the playground and playing with his friends and a little girl was pulling them off. When she pulled on him he landed on his elbow and fractured his arm. The school nurse called me and asked me to come pick him up. So I did and I took him to an urgent care and had x-rays done. They said that I needed to have and orthopedic surgeon cast it. So they put it in a sling and told me to ice it and have him take ibprofuen to get the swelling down. So he got very bored laying on the couch with his arm up and not being able to move around. I took him to an orthopedic surgeon today and got a cast put on. I also had to get a second set of x-rays done because the ortho. said the first ones weren't very clear and he wanted to get a better picture. So luckily I didn't have Cory (Thank you, Mary!!!!) because it took us ALL day for what was supposed to have been an hour or so. (I left the house at 10 am and didn't get back until 3 pm, just in time for Kayley to get home from school.)

This was taken Saturday night before his bath to so the difference in the size of his elbows. He is such a skinny little guy that the swollen elbow really stands out.

This was Friday night. We wanted to try to keep him propped up so he wouldn't bump his elbow.

Palm Trees

I took the kids with me to Enrichment night last week and took their pictures in front of the mini-palm trees that are outside the church. The kids were having lots of fun.

Kenzie's Crawl

Kenzie has the most unique crawl. We love to watch her get around now. I'll try to get another video with an angle from the from the front. She was having a hard time on the kitchen floor when we recorded this. On the carpet she justs cruises everywhere.

This is the first time Kenzie had a popsicle. I wish that you could hear her. She was licking her lips with a huge smack each time. It was really cute.

Flying High

There is a community park around the corner from our house that we love to go to. On a beautiful breezy day back in March we went over there with kites we got for a $1 at Wal-Mart to see how they would do. It was a blast!!! We all had a lot of fun. Brent did a great job of running in between all three keeping them up.

Cameron chose an "IronMan" kite.

Cory chose "Buzz Lightyear." Buzz was the best flyer out them all. He hardly crashed at all.

Kayley chose "Hannah Montana." Apparently Hannah must no like to fly because she did not want to stay in the air. Kayley tried her hardest and did get her up and going a couple of times.

Kenzie enjoys going to the park, contrary to what this picture may show.

This was the only time that one of the kites got stuck in the tree. Luckily, Brent was able to get without any damage done.

A beautiful March day at the Phoenix Zoo

Help we are about to be eaten!!!

The zoo had a lot of hands on things for the kids. The got to sit on animal statues, sit in a clam shell, pet goats, and see a huge variety of fun animals. There were not only the normal variety of giraffes, elephant, lions, and tigers, but also flamingos, cheetahs running around, small monkeys that were right next to us, and a petting zoo with goats, sheep, and cows.

This little monkey was right in front of Kenzie and she thought it was so cool. That was really the first time of the day that she got really excited to see one of the animals. She liked seeing the other animals, but I would say that the monkeys were her favorite part of the day.

Cory was the only one of the kids that would pet the goat.

We all had a lot of fun.
