Kenzie's 2nd Birthday

Kenzie celebrated her 2nd birthday on Easter. So we got to listen to General conference, celebrate Easter, and party with Kenzie all in one day.

She wanted to make the most of the day and woke up at 5:40 am. I was able to get her to stay in her room until 6:20 but that was it. She then wanted to open her presents, and wasn't at all happy that she had to wait for Dad and Cameron to wake up.

She loved opening all of her presents. She loved pushing her new baby around in the stroller.

She got a stroller, doll, blankets, and Little People from Grandma and Grampa Palmer.

Grandma and Grandpa Reed gave her this cute tea sets. It is great because she loves to have a "party".

We got her a Dora van, blocks with a Cinderella figure, Dora bowls, and two new outfits.

She loves her presents. Her favorite things right now are Dora, playing with dolls, having "parties", and playing Little People.

We went to the Johnson's for Easter dinner (which was wonderful) and then had cake and ice cream.

Kenzie loved opening this book. It is a Dora book that has different sounds.

Thanks, everyone, for helping Kenzie have such a great day.
We love her so much. She is such a sweet girl and brings so much happiness into our home.

Easter

We had a great Easter this year. The kids got to do a neighborhood Easter egg hunt put on by the HOA, and go to a store to do an egg hunt. They all had lots of fun. We haven't had them wear their new Easter clothes, so I will try to remember to put a picture on at a later date.

Kenzie loved finding the eggs, but when she opened them and found candy inside she was so surprised and excited.

Such cute kids. I wish we could have gotten Kenzie in but she wanted nothing to do with "a bunny". Cory was so cute, at first he took the bunny's carrot instead of a cookie.

After the store egg hunt the kids went home and looked for their Easter baskets. The Easter Bunny didn't do a good enough job of hiding the boy's, but it took them a little while to find Kayley's.

Kayley's 10th Birthday

Kayley celebrated her 10th birthday last week. After school she had her last choir meeting. They had a fun party. She got lots of fun presents (thanks Grandmas and Grandpas) and then we went to eat at Peter Piper Pizza for her birthday dinner. Unfortunately the camera was left out of the diaper bag and so I didn't get any pictures there, but everyone had so much fun. After we came home and had cake and ice cream and then her cousin Ellie and Ethan came over and sang Happy Birthday, gave her another present and then they got to play for a while. She also got some yummy cookies (from Paradise Bakery and Cafe) from our neighbors.

She had a great day!!

We got her an MP3 player. She thought that was great. Now we need to get some music so she can listen to something besides the radio.

She got this towel and beach bag from her Grandpa and Grandma Reed.
Her Grampa and Grandma Palmer gave her the Primary song CDs, a pair of shorts, and a gift card to Deseret Book. She got to go with Grandma while we were in Utah over spring break and use her gift card. She then "forgot" what she had gotten and got to open it up on her birthday.
As soon as we got home from dinner, Kenzie ran to the couch and sat day and kept saying "birfday". We decided to let her open one of her presents a few days early from Grandma and Grampa Palmer so she would be happy.

Kayley wanted a jello cake for her birthday cake. But I learned the hard way not to try and be fancy and do it in a bundt pan. It didn't turn out as well as I was thinking, but at least it tasted good.

We love Kayley so much. She is such a great helper. She does whatever we ask, plus usually more. She is a great example to her younger brothers and sister.

Roller Skating

Last night for Family Home Evening we used a gift certificate that Kayley received from school for being a "Terrific Kid" and went roller skating. We received admission and skate rentals for 4 people, a xl pizza, and drinks. Luckily, they had free admission so Kenzie and I got in for free and we only had to pay $2 for skates for Kenzie. We were there for over 1 1/2 hours. The kids had a BLAST!

While Brent helped each of the kids I walked with Kenzie on the carpet. She was loving it and having so much fun. Kayley and Cameron did really well, by the end of the night they had started getting the hang of it. Cory did good, but he was the one that fell and did the splits the most. It was so much fun. I just wish I had remembered the camera so I could take more pictures. Luckily we were able to get this with Brent's phone.

Happy Birthday, Brent

Yesterday we celebrated Brent's birthday. For lunch he went to Denny's and got his free Grand Slam. And then for dinner he picked up a free meal from Joe's BBQ and Joe's Farm Grill (both great places to eat). So he shared his meals with me and we got the kids pizza. What a great meal. We are all about freebies.

He wanted a turtle cake. So I went online and found pictures and realized it would be easier to do it like this than to do it in a 9x13 pan and decorating it like I was planning on. For dessert we invited Brent's cousin, Jeremy, and his family over to celebrate with us since he also just had his birthday last Friday. So we had cake, ice cream, a dozen free donuts from Krispy Kreme (like I said we are all about free, plus Kayley and Cameron were happy because they got to take one for their treat in their lunchbox today), and yummy brownies that Mary made.

Bracelet

Last night at our Relief Society Birthday party we were able to make a bracelet as a gift to ourselves to take home. I never imagined such a difficult task. They had set up two 6-foot long tables that were covered with bowls of beads. There was so many it was hard to choose. I decided I would post a picture of the finished project. It was a lot of fun.
